CRHA's Inaugural Red Carpet Reception Recognizes Honor Roll Students

On Friday, March 1, 2019, Chesapeake Redevelopment and Housing Authority rolled out the red carpet at its Inaugural "Red Carpet" Reception for resident youth who achieved Honor Roll during the 2nd 9-week grading period. Children and parents arrived in their Sunday Best as they walked the red carpet to participate in the event. Honorees received a bevy of goody bags, gift cards, award certificates and other prizes. Parents showed up in great numbers to support their children and also had an opportunity to win wonderful door prizes!

Justin Brooks, Executive Director of Chesapeake Redevelopment and Housing Authority, provided a brief overview of the event designed to shine the spotlight on the success of our youth, and his goal of building broader relationships with community partners and the residents who need those services. Chartway Federal Credit Union joined in the celebration by distributing gift bags and presenting their Pay for an A program, where children earn money for every honor roll grade they receive in each grading period. Chick-Fil-A Indian River also partnered with CRHA by donating gift cards to honorees.
