MacDonald Manor STEM Program Graduation & Backpack Drive
CRHA celebrated the Summer Program graduation for participants of the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) at the MacDonald Manor Community Center on Friday, August 31, 2019.
Councilmember Susan Vitale, members of the STOP Organization, Jea Patmon and the Hollowell House organization were in attendance to present program participants with backpacks filled with an abundance of school supplies for the upcoming school year. Back to School supplies were provided through the generous support of Jea Patmon and Hollowell House, and with the great support of Chesapeake City Councilmember Susan Vitale. Following the distribution of backpacks, the youth enjoyed a pizza party onsite.
The STEM program resumes for the Fall Semester on September 26th. If you have not yet registered your child, you may do so by calling (757) 858-1377. The program offers afterschool STEM activities for school-age children from 6th - 12th grade. CRHA's Resident Services' staff followed the event with a School Supply Distribution Drive for all children in the community.
